The sound isn't the greatest but in this, you'll get to hear Earl Shaffer's voice, as talks about his AT hike. He also shows slides of the color photos he took along the way.
This is a lecture by Donald Donaldson, Earl's authorized biographer. In this lecture, a slide show about Earl is played, created by his brother. Photos of Earl as a kid are shown, along with other background information that I didn't desscribe in The Long Hike.
This is a very short clip from a longer video I will be making about attempting to hike the Presidential Traverse, in NH. I got injured about halfway through so it was quite the struggle to get down! On the plus side, I did get to see the sunset on top of Mt. Washington, not something I thought I'd ever be able to see.
Taylor is one of my AT favorites. She's hiked the AT three times. Her attitude throughout all of the struggles was so positive. She has a smile on her face in just about every video. It's pretty amazing.
In this Tayor "Nahampsha" episode, her Garmin malfunctions due to water damage. The chaos causes her to tap out! This was her third thru-hike so I get why she thought she'd had enough.
These two guys are really likable. I watched their three part series on hiking the last 100 Miles of Wilderness. They had a few mishaps but got through it with a positive attitude!
This short news piece illustrates just how risky hiking the AT can be. This guy was lucky as he was rescued pretty quickly!
This hiker discusses how life changing the AT can be. The title says "ruined" but if you watch, you'll see that instead, it radically changed the way she now lives.
